Beaverton orthodontist Dr. Dharmini uses the Damon System of braces. It is more than a product; it is an new and exciting way of treating patients. The Damon System braces use a passive slide mechanism to maintain the archwires within the bracket, allowing them to move more freely. This innovation reduces friction and binding so we can move teeth quickly and comfortably. Traditional braces use elastics that “bind” archwires in place. Elastics unfortunately act like parking brakes, resulting in friction and pressure, making treatment slower and less comfortable. Damon braces are designed to be discreet, comfortable and easy to keep clean. Without the elastic ties which attract and collect plaque, Damon braces make dental hygiene much easier during treatment.

Damon Clear is part of the innovative Damon System, which combines tie-less brackets and high technology archwires that are clinically proven to move teeth quickly and comfortably with spectacular results. Damon Clear combines the best of traditional clear braces and efficient technology to deliver a discrete treatment experience with results that go beyond straight teeth. Crystal/Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material, which makes them visually less prominent. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. Clear braces move your teeth in exactly the same way as metal braces do. Clear ceramic braces are quite comfortable to wear and just as efficient at moving teeth as traditional metal braces.

Dr. Dharmini is pleased to offer additional options that combine the advancements of Damon with computer animated 3D technology to customize your treatment increasing efficiency and shortening treatment time. Insignia is a computerized system of orthodontics that utilizes digital treatment planning.  Once we have a 3D model of your teeth, we can use this sophisticated software to virtually plan your treatment. Each tooth movement, bracket position, and wire sequence customized to create your ideal bite and smile. Once the design for your case is completed, a lab fabricates each bracket and wire for your case.  The advantage of this high tech customization means greater comfort and shorter treatment time.

At Evergreen Family Dentistry & Orthodontics we use very advanced techniques to avoid the pain and frustration associated with traditional wire and bracket braces. Invisalign is the process of using 3-d computer rendering to fabricate invisible removable plastic liners that gently move the teeth. This method also allows the patient more control over their oral health care by being able to remove the appliance before meals and bed to adequately clean their teeth. Every two weeks a new aligner is placed to advance orthodontic treatment. We take pride in our patients not masking their beautiful smile while going through orthodontics!
